Day 1 : Arrive Cape Town for 4 nights
Silvermist Mountain Lodge, Room Only
Collect rental car and drive to Silvermist, Cape Town for 4 nights. Silvermist
Mountain Lodge is a 60-acre mountainside estate of well-designed self-contained
cottages in the beautiful Constantia Nek area. The estate has a swimming
pool, mountain trails and a coffee shop serving breakfasts. One of the
Cape's mountain walking trails starts in the reserve, and access to beaches
and Constantia wine estates is easy. Each of the one, two or three bedroom
cottages has a large fireplace and either its own 'deck' or terrace. All
are fully serviced daily. Self-catering with breakfast available at the
coffee shop.
Day 5 : 3 nights, La Plume Guest Farm,
Little Karoo, Bed & Breakfast
Drive to the Little Karoo to stay for 3 nights at La Plume Guestfarm,
a working ostrich farm. The Little Karoo is ideal for small children with
the Cango caves to explore, ostrich farms, wildlife and animal ranches
and many other child-orientated attractions. The lovely Victorian homestead
is decorated in period style and all nine en suite rooms are well-appointed,
with telephone, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, television, bar fridge
and furnished with Cape antiques. Some rooms take extra beds and there
is a two bedroom family cottage. Farm tours are available on request.

Day 8 : 4 nights, Knysna Quays Hotel,
Garden Route, Bed & Breakfast
Continue over the Outeniqua mountains to the Garden Route for 4 nights,
Knysna Quays Hotel in the Knysna Waterfront. This nautically-inspired
hotel looks over the marina to the Knysna Lagoon and is surrounded by
interesting shops and restaurants. Each room has two double beds, suitable
for 1 or 2 children. (1½ hours, 120km)
Day 12 : 2 nights, Addo Restcamp, Addo
Elephant Park, Room Only
Continue to the Eastern Cape for 2 nights in the Addo Elephant Park, with
its dense populations of elephant as well as black rhino, hippo, buffalo
and many antelope. Accommodation is in simple family chalets and there
is a restaurant serving all meals. (3½ hours, 360km)
Day 14 : Depart from Port Elizabeth
Drive to Port Elizabeth to drop off your rental car prior to your onward
flight.
