Seychelles Honeymoons

The Seychelles is as close to natural visual paradise as you can ever hope to see.. A "thousand miles from anywhere", the archipelago of 99 islets and six larger islands lies almost on the Equator, outside the cyclone belt and has no malaria or serious diseases. The Seychelles appeal is more to the nature-lover than the glamour-puss, whilst the seclusion, pampering and delicious seafood appeals to lovers, romantics and honeymooners.

Flights from Johannesburg and return on Mondays and Saturdays. British Airways flies via Nairobi on Mondays and Fridays, returning Tuesdays and Saturdays. Air Seychelles flies from London via Zurich on Fridays and non-stop on Saturdays. Return flights are Thursdays and Sundays (daytime flight).

Day 1 : Arrive Mahe and fly to Praslin for 7 nights Acajou Hotel, Dinner,B&B
On arrival in Mahe, you fly to the island of Praslin and transfer to the charming Acajou Hotel. Praslin is many people’s idea of paradise - white sandy beaches surrounded by coral reefs teeming with life whilst the interior is untouched forest. Believed by some to be the original Garden of Eden, it is home to the Vallee de Mai, a primeval rainforest containing numerous species of palms - including the unique, suggestively-shaped Coco de Mer palm. You can watch turtle eggs hatch at a sheltered nesting site and hunt for some of the world’s rarest birds.

Day 2 : Relaxing at Acajou Hotel
Named after the South Africa acajou (mahogany) used to build this new 4 star hotel, the Acajou Hotel is located on the Cote d’Or, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. 28 tastefully-decorated and spacious rooms each have air-conditioning, bath/shower, telephone, TV, minbar with a sea-facing wooden deck. They are set in a lush garden amid takamaka trees on the edge of the water. There is a restaurant serving excellent and interesting Creole food and international dishes, bar and cocktail lounge overlooking the gardens and beach bar/restaurant. Evening entertainment is offered three times a week. A favourite of ours – the wooded environment contributes to a sense of living in harmony with nature.

Day 8 : Return to Mahe
Take the flight back to Mahe airport in time for your onward arrangements.

Day 1 : Transfer to the Banyan Tree, 7 nights, B&B
On arrival in Mahe, you are transferred to the sublime Banyan Tree Resort. In contrast to the pared down lifestyle of the smaller islands, Mahé could almost be described as bustling and even has nightlife of sorts. This is the ideal island for the active, as watersports centres, dive centres, game fishing and yacht charters abound. You can stroll around the markets of Victoria, visit the Botanical Gardens, take a nature trail in the mountains, go diving or simply laze on one of the 75 beaches!

Day 2 : Relaxing at the Banyan Tree
Banyan Tree is a rare and serenely beautiful hotel amidst 117 hectares of tropical vegetation on the southwestern coast. It has a superb 800 metre beach frontage on beautiful and private Intendance Bay, described as one of the world's ten most beautiful beaches with exotic palms, lush tropical forest and a steep, protective mountain slope. Its 36 stunning pool villas combine contemporary, colonial and 'plantation' décor; with high sloping ceilings, airy verandas, louvered doors and ethnic woven textiles. The Hillside Pool Villas (±97 sqm) suit those who prefer the glorious ocean view and serene rainforest surroundings of the hillside. Day 3 : Activities on offer
All the activities and amenities you would expect are on offer, including a dive school, windsurfing, sailing, tennis, fully-equipped gym, sauna, steam baths and Jacuzzi. But, above all, this hotel is about the huge range of massages, therapies, rubs and wraps available at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa.
Primarily a spot for utter indulgence and pampering, the resort offers a choice of five restaurants, not to mention beach picnics and in-villa dining.

After some time at leisure you are transferred back to Mahe Airport for your onward arrangements.

The restaurant offers local and international dishes. The pool and sundeck are stunning, ideal for enjoying cocktails and watching the sun setting over the ocean. It lies on the long romantic Grande Anse beach close to the prehistoric Valle de Mai National Park. The 11 en suite double rooms and 3 suites of this four star hotel are set in a beautiful flower-filled garden. Each has air-conditioning, minibar, TV and telephone. The hotel has probably the best restaurant on the island ? glorious Italian and Creole food at the celebrated Ristorante Capri. Lemuria is a stunning small hotel resort in an idyllic location with the three white sand beaches & just five minutes from airstrip. Surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, the hotel is sheltered from the prevailing winds. The 80 Junior Suites (±60 sqm) and 8 Senior Suites each have a sea view, and the décor is sophisticated and restful, so that one is torn between the joys of being out in the open air, playing a round of golf or on the beach, or enjoying the palatial surroundings! Day 3 : Activities at Lemuria
All the activities and amenities you would expect are on offer, including a dive school, 40 ft catamaran, windsurfing, sailing (Hobie 14s) floodlit tennis, fully-equipped gym, sauna, steam baths, Jacuzzi, hairdresser and Guerlain Beaty centre and health spa and of course the top-rated championship 18 hole golf course, which is the reason for many people’s stay. The course, designed by American architect Rodney Wright, winds it way spectacularly through lush vegetation with views of the sea and beaches. Hotel guests are complimentary members of the Golf Club and enjoy reduced green fees.

Other facilities include three restaurants, four bars offer low key entertainment. two boutiques, lounge, Turtle Club for children and the afore-mentioned spectacular swimming pool on three levels.
