Camp, Fully Inclusive
On arrival at Maun, you are met and transferred by light aircraft to Selinda
camp in the Linyanti Swamps. The Swamps lie to the west of the Chobe National
Park, wilder and more remote. Its particularly known for the huge
concentrations of elephant, which can reach enormous densities during
the winter months. The landscape is characterized by grassland vistas
dotted with palm forest islands all very picturesque and open.
Selinda Lodge is situated on the banks of the eastern Selinda spillway
among shaded riverine forest overlooking the Selinda floodplains in the
Linyanti Reserve. The camp is very small and intimate, accommodating only
12 guests in large, airy, well-appointed Meru tents.
Day 2 : 2 nights, Trail camps, Fully Inclusive
Today is the start of your walking safari with 2 nights spent in trail
camps of Mokaba and Tshwene. You walk through open floodplains dotted
with riparian forest and palm islands. Each day you walk approximately
7km in the morning between the trails camps. After lunch and a siesta
you enjoy approximately 3km of casual walking in the vicinity of the trails
camp. The camps offer comfortable accommodation - the canvas Meru tents
have proper beds, an adjacent flush toilet, solar lighting and storage
space. Traditional bucket showers.
Day 4 : 2 nights, Zibalianja Camp, Fully Inclusive
The walking tour ends at Zibalianja Camp. Zibalianja Camp is a charming
six bed tented camp on a palm-fringed island overlooking the Zibalianja
Lagoon and the open floodplains. Your large airy Meru-style tent is on
a raised wooden deck with en suite open-air facilities and solar power.
Morning and afternoon drives are complemented by the excitement of a night
drive in search of nocturnal predators. Other activities by arrangement
include game viewing by boat on the lagoon, fishing and walking.
Day 6 : Return to Maun
Today, after a final early morning game activity and brunch, you fly back
to Maun. Alternatively you could fly to Kasane and travel onto Victoria
Falls for a small extra cost.
