50km. Thousands of wild animals such as blue wildebeest, springbok,
zebra, kudu, giraffe, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, etc. are
attracted to the area. The birdlife is prolific with 326 recorded

We travel further through Kaokoland where the Ovahimba, a semi-nomadic

women are noted for their unusual beauty, enhanced by intricate
hairstyles and traditional dress. They rub their bodies with red
ochre and fat to protect their skins against the desert climate.
(All meals).
DAY 8/9: DAMARALAND
The Damaraland is a vast and rugged terrain. Its mountain ranges
are intercepted by wide gravel plains which run into sandy, vegetated

see the rare desert elephant or the elusive black rhino. We enjoy
the solitude and the remoteness of our secluded bush camp. (All
