Desert & Delta Adventure - Botswana & Namibia - 14 Days

Day 1: Windhoek
Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere, is a city that can be visited throughout the year. This day is spent at your own leisure. (Hotel Safari or Similar Accommodation) (Dinner - Own Arrangements)

Day 2 & 3: Namib Desert - Sossusvlei
Our journey takes us south to the heart of the Namib Desert. The following morning is an early departure for Sossusvlei stopping in the dune belt to enjoy the changing colours of the world's highest sand dunes. Spend the morning walking amongst the dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. On the way back to the camp we enjoy a short hike through Sesriem Canyon. (Budget Mobile Safari) (All Meals)

Day 4: Swakopmund
Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia. Time is spent at own leisure to enjoy the charm of this old town or to undertake one of the many optional activities on offer e.g. quad biking, sand boarding, scenic flights (at own expense).

Day 5: Windhoek
We depart Swakopmund after lunch and arrive in Windhoek in the late afternoon. We overnight in a bed and breakfast outside Windhoek. Traditional barbeque included.(Accommodation in B&B) (Breakfast & Dinner Only)

Day 6: Ghanzi
We drive to Botswana and set up camp at Dqae Qare Bushman Village in the Kalahari. The local Bushmen community run the project with all the proceeds directly benefiting the community. The following morning we venture out on a guided bush walk, with a local guide explaining / showing us the many uses of the environment.(Budget Mobile Safari) (All Meals)

Day 7: Maun
Continuing overland we are welcomed in Maun by our Botswana guide, and transferred to our first campsite. The evening is spent relaxing around the campfire.(Budget Mobile Safari) (All Meals)

Day 8 & 9: Mokoro Excursion
After breakfast we head into the Delta for a two-day Mokoro excursion, where we explore the channels and waterways of the Okavango Delta, camping on an island.(Budget Mobile Safari) (All Meals)

Day 10: Khwai
We move and set up our camp in the Khwai area, and explore the ever-changing scenery on a late afternoon game drive with our guide.

Day 11: Savute / Chobe
Continuing overland through the National Parks we visit the dry Savute Marsh and Savute channel, famous for its abundance of large predators.

Day 12: Chobe
Chobe is famous for its magnificent scenery and sunsets, with the largest elephant population in Africa living in the region.

Day 13: Chobe to Livingstone
We are transferred to Livingstone to spend time at our own leisure and enjoy the many optional activities on offer (at own expense).

Day 14: Livingstone
Before making our way to the airport to board our onward flights, we have the opportunity to exchange contact details with the friends we have made during this adventure safari. End of safari. (Breakfast At Own Expense)

Budget Mobile Safaris
This budget safari will take you on an adventure through Namibia and Botswana. An experienced safari guide travels with the clients. A chef prepares all the meals while in camp on an open campfire. Limited participation.
Group Size:
- Group size 2-16.
Tents & Equipment:
- 2 person spacious dome tent (L2.4m x W2.4m x H1.90m) with built in groundsheet and 2 large aerating windows with mosquito netting.
- 6cm high-density mattresses.
- Sleeping bags / bed rolls.
Food & Drinks:
- 3 meals each day.
- Tea and coffee available in camp.
- Not Included: Alcoholic beverages, mineral water and soft drinks. These can be purchased at the start of the safari.
Vehicles:
- Botswana - open sided 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser ideal for game viewing.
- Namibia - custom-made Toyota vehicle with sliding window and game viewing hatches.
