Classic Cape and Colonial Safari

Day 1- Departure
Depart New York or Atlanta on a South African Airways flight to Cape Town

Day 2- Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport today, a representative will meet, hand over your documents and assist you to your awaiting transfer.
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Accommodations in a standard room for 4 nights. Breakfast included.
The Victoria & Alfred Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Cape Town’s famous V&A Waterfront. Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse and converted in 1990 to a luxury hotel. It’s detail and faultless service that give the Victoria and Alfred its elegance, intimacy, romance and reputation. All rooms overlook the working harbour and Table Mountain or the Piazza. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3 - Cape Town (B) Optional Tours

WINELANDS TOUR - Full day (departs Mon, Wed & Fri)
Escape to the beauty and tranquility of the Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch wineland region. Our first stop is the ‘Afrikaans Language Monument’, perched on Paarl rock which offers sweeping vies of the surrounding area. We then continue onto wineries of well known estates, to sample wines of merit, before visiting the Huguenot Monument Museum in franschhoek, to discover the origins of this world renowned wine producing region.
Lunch in one of the many fine restaurants in either Franschhoek or Stellenbosch (own account).
Don’t miss the world-famous 19th century-style general dealer in Stellenbosch’s Dorp Street, before returning back to your hotel.

PENINSULA TOUR - Full day (departs Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun)
This morning at 08h30 your driver/guide will collect you for a full day Peninsula Tour – This comprehensive tour shows you the best of the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Find out firsthand why it’s called the Fairest Cape. Enjoy a leisurely walk in Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. Travel past Sea Point and Camps Bay, past the famous beaches of Clifton and way above Llandudno towards Hout Bay. (Optional Seal Island Cruise) Pass through Noordhoek and Scarborough. Later we stop for lunch at Bertha’s – or similar (own account). We continue on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Ride the funicular to the scenic viewing point where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet. From here we drive along the Indian Ocean coastal-line, where we visit the beautiful Boulders Beach, famous for its unique African Penguins, and a short stop at the naval port of Simon’s Town.

Day 4 - Cape Town (B) CAPE TOWN CITY TOUR – half day (departs daily)
The ultimate Mother City experience. We pass by the Houses of Parliament, visit the moat and torture chamber of The Castle – South Africa’s oldest building. We visit the District Six Museum, which documents the tragic apartheid-era disintegration of a vibrant community. Bargain hunt at Green-market Square flea market in the heart of the city centre, then take a cable car up Table Mountain (own account and subject to weather), before descending to savour the spicy aromas of the Malay Quarter. The tour ends at the shoppers’ paradise, the V&A Waterfront, or you may be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 5 - Cape Town (B) Day at Leisure

Day 6 - Cape Town/Sabi Sabi (BD)
This morning after breakfast a representative will transfer you to Cape Town International Airport Depart Cape Town on South African Airways flight to Johannesburg
Depart Johannesburg on a scheduled air charter transfer into the world renowned Sabi Sabi Game Reserve. A representative from Sabi Sabi will meet and assist you at the airstrip and transfer you to the World renowned Sabi Sabi, located in the game-rich Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park.
Selati Camp.Accommodations in a suite for 3 nights. Full board and game activities included.

Selati Lodge is furnished with a historic railway-theme charm and 19th century elegance. It overlooks a river bed. All the suites have air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom with private indoor and outdoor showers and patios. On arrival at your lodge enjoy some time to freshen up before resuming for tea/coffee prior to setting off on your first private game drive reserve experience! Knowledgeable rangers and trackers with a passion for the “bush” take you in open vehicles through this vast wilderness. As darkness approaches, the tracker will scan the bush with a powerful spotlight and will point out the elusive nocturnal wildlife – a highlight of the day’s safari. A close encounter with one of these magnificent beasts is an experience of a lifetime! Apart from the Big Five, look out for other no less rewarding animals such as hyena, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and giraffe. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner at the Boma – under “African skies”!

Day 7 - Sabi Sabi (BLD)
Set off early this morning on a private safari under the guidance of a skilled ranger who will lead you on a journey of discovery to view the illusive “Big Five” in an open Land Rover. You will begin the adventure to spot a myriad of wild animals including, but not limited to, the big 5, leopard, lion, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Private safaris under the guidance of a skilled ranger will prove to be an exhilarating experience for bird-watchers and tree enthusiasts as they explore the rarer sights and wonders of the bush. Return back to the lodge for breakfast followed by some time at leisure to relax or for the more energetic depart with a game ranger on a walking safari.

This afternoon – just as the temperatures start to cool - set off for another afternoon game drive through this wilderness on search of more animals to tick off on your list! Stop off at a vantage point for sundowners while watching the African sunset on the horizon, returning back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 8 - Sabi Sabi (BLD)
Up early this morning as you depart just after sunrise for an early morning game drive in open vehicles. This is the best time to see the animals of Africa, before the sun gets too hot, stopping mid morning for a welcome tea/coffee. Return back mid-morning to your lodge for breakfast and enjoy some time at leisure. Lunch at lodge. Set off on another exhilarating game safari returning back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 9 - Departure (B)
This morning as the sun rises, gather round for tea/coffee before setting off on your last game drive into the bush in your open vehicle accompanied by your ranger and tracker who once again will search the open veldt for the many creatures which inhabit this area. Return back to the lodge for breakfast and check out and your transfer to the Sabi airstrip Depart Sabi Sabi on a scheduled air charter transfer to Johannesburg
