After arrival at Cape Town international Airport, a quick 20-minute transfer
takes us to our Hotel close to the Cities V&A Waterfront. The day is left to use as you wish. Options are a visit to the famous Robben Island Prison where Nelson Mandela was held, take the cable car up Table Mountain, a half-day trip into the townships to get an idea of how the majority of South Africans live, or simply visit the shops and festivities of the Waterfront
or one the Cape Beaches.

Then it’s on over the Constantiaberg Mountains, to Soetwater where we begin our optional cycle with a total distance of 24km ending in the Cape Point Nature Reserve where we will serve a buffet-style picnic lunch. We will then continue on to Cape Point, where you can choose to climb the hill to the lighthouse or take the funicular up. There is also a 1/2-hour cliff top hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope - the South-westernmost tip of the African continent (or take the bus). On our return home we will visit a rare colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach in False Bay. We then follow the road past the southern suburbs back to the city.
