Botswana is different. It has wildlife, wilderness and a sense of wonder, though it is more than just another wildlife destination. While it is true that we have the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Chobe and Makgadigadi National Parks, names which are well known for for being the best game viewing areas in Southern Africa.

We also have many more smaller private game reserves and concessions that have been set aside for our wildlife. In fact 38% of Botswana has been set aside for this reason. Tsodilo Hills in the west of the country, is a world heritage site and, famous for its bushman paintings which have been described as a 'Louvre in the desert' . In a land of 582,000 sq km's , we have a population of only 1.7 million who are based mostly along the eastern edge of the country, the rest of the land is devoted to pristine wilderness areas, a luxury for visitors from around the world to enjoy the endless plains and un- touched landscapes.

Botswana is a year round destination with an enviable climate that is mostly fine and dry, with the prime game viewing months being June through November. However the 'wet months' are the best for birding trips. We have over 550 different birds in Botswana making it both exciting for bird and animal lovers.
